Men’s
Soccer-
The Chargers had a great Labor Day weekend, going 2-0 in the
Franklin Pierce College Labor Day Classic. The team now
stands at 3-1 overall and will start conference play on Saturday,
September 10 against Bloomfield College at 2pm. On September
2, the team handed the University of Bridgeport a 1-0 loss behind
the goal of sophomore Ryan Clancy off the assist
by big brother Kyle Clancy. The team got a
big win on September 4 against #9 Franklin Pierce College,
3-1. Kyle netted two goals in the game,
including the game winner off the assist by brother
Ryan. Diego Miranda
netted his first goal of the season off the assist by
Jhonny Arteaga.
Women’s
Soccer-
The Lady Chargers have had a rough start to the 2005 season.
The team opened up with a road game at Southern Connecticut State
University and were handed a 0-6 loss. Dominican then
traveled to the Millersville University Tournament over Labor Day
weekend and faced off against NYIT on September
2. Pamela Mertens netted her
first goal of the year to tie the game at 1-1, but NYIT would fight
back for the 2-1overtime victory. On September 3, the Lady
Chargers played a tough University of New Haven team and lost
0-6. The team will open up conference play on Wednesday as
they travel to rival Nyack College for a 3:30 game and will play
their first home game on September 10 against Bloomfield College at
noon.
Women’s
Volleyball-
The women’s volleyball team will face off against Fairleigh
Dickinson University-Madison on September 6 to begin the 2005
season. The Lady Chargers will open up conference play on
September 10 as they host a tri-match will Post University and
Goldey-Beacom College. The matches will begin at noon.
