Men’s Basketball- The men’s basketball team posted a 1-1 record this week to end the regular season with an 11-16 overall record and a 10-12 record in the CACC. On 2/21, the Chargers won a thrilling game against Goldey-Beacom College, 58-56. Junior Prince Jackson hit the game winning lay up at the buzzer, finishing with 16 points. Senior Tahiem Stewart scored 13 points and a team leading five rebounds in the win. Shelton Gibbs and James Gray chipped in six points each. On 2/25 the team hosted Wilmington College for Senior Day at the Hennessy Center. The Wildcats came away with a 92-88 victory in a very close knit battle with 16 tied scores. Jackson led the team with 22 points and six rebounds. Stewart had 19 points and eight rebounds, while junior Chaz Holloway scored 14 points in the loss. Dominican has received the seventh seed in the upcoming CACC Tournament and will travel to the second seeded Cougars of Caldwell College on February 28th. Game time is 7:30 pm.
Women’s
Basketball-
The Lady Chargers posted a 2-0 record this week to wrap up the
regular season with an 18-11 overall record and a 16-8 record in
the CACC. On 2/21, the Lady Chargers defeated Goldey-Beacom
College 67-53 at the Hennessy Center. Senior Danielle
Armiento had a season high 14 points off the bench in the
win. Senior shooter Jill Younghans chipped
in 10 points, while Dana Rotio netted nine points
and Danielle Dugan added seven points,
respectively. On Senior Day (2/25) Dominican dominated
Wilmington College, 74-45. Younghans led the
team with 13 points in the win. Senior Ashley
Rossi added 11 points and a game leading three blocks,
while junior Jackie Tracey scored 10 points, a
game leading six assists, two blocks and two steals. The Lady
Chargers received the fourth seed in the upcoming CACC Tournament
and will host #5 Post University on March 1 at the Hennessy
Center. Game time is 7:30 pm.
