Blauvelt, NY (5/4/06) The Concordia College baseball team defeated the Dominican College Chargers, 18-9 this afternoon at Schafer Field in a non-conference game.
Dominican held a 2-0 lead after the first inning but Concordia exploded for four runs in the second to take a 4-2 lead. DC tied it in the third and went ahead in the fifth, but Conordia rallied scoring runs in the last five innings en route to the 18-9 victory.
Jose Made (Binghamton, NY) went 2-4, including a triple, with two runs and three RBIs for the Chargers. Jose Escalera (Bronx, NY) also went 2-4 with a run scored and three RBIs. Junior catcher Peter Gilardo (Cornwall, NY) also had two hits in the loss.
DC starter Matt Dilgen (Staten Island, NY) suffered the loss to drop his record to 6-4 on the year, going 5.1 innings and allowing 13 hits.
The Chargers are back in action on Saturday when the host Wilmington College in a CACC double-header, slated to begin at noon.
