#21 NSU Baseball Defeats Dominican College 17-11 for 11th Straight Win
Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. (3/6/07) - The #21 ranked NSU Baseball team (16-3) won their 11th consecutive game with a 17-11 victory over the Dominican College (NY) Chargers (0-4) on Tuesday evening at the NSU Baseball Complex.

Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.(3/6/07)- The #21 ranked NSU Baseball team (16-3) won their 11th consecutive game with a 17-11 victory over the Dominican College (NY) Chargers (0-4) on Tuesday evening at the NSU Baseball Complex.
NSU first baseman Bryan Cook (Jr., Rockledge, Fla.) and centerfielder Matt Mindick (Jr., Boynton Beach, Fla.) each blasted two-run homeruns, to power an 18-hit Sharks attack in the win. Sharks catcher Pete Simon (So., Lake Worth Fla.) was 3-for-4 with a run and RBI, while Cook went 3-for-4 with four RBI and three runs scored and Mindick went 3-for-5 with three RBI and three runs scored. NSU erupted for 11 runs in the 6th inning, as they batted around and sent 16 batters to the plate to break a 6-6 deadlock.
NSU scored three runs in both the first and second innings, before the 11-run outburst in the sixth inning. Both teams stranded eight runners on the bases. NSU pitcher Ray Garcia (So., Sunrise, Fla.) picked up the win in relief of starter Rob Matthews (Boca Raton, Fla.) to improve to 3-0 on the season. Dominican starter Daniel Bucci (0-1) was charged with the loss.
Sharks shortstop Shawn Langlois (Sr., Wellington, Fla.) was 2-for 4 with three RBI and two runs, second baseman Dale Alberto (So., Davie Fla.) went 2-for-3 with two doubles, three RBI and two runs and right fielder Damon Marino (So., Jupiter Fla.) was 2-for-3 with three runs scored. NSU has won 14 of their last 15 games, while Mindick extended his hitting streak to 12 games.
Dominican shortstop Jose Made (Binghamton, NY) was 2-for-3 with three RBI, while third baseman Tom Keegan (Dickson City, PA), rightfielder Jose Escalera (Bronx, NY) and catcher Peter Gilardo (Cornwall, NY) collected two hits a piece.
The Chargers are back in action tomorrow when they take on Lewis University at the Lynn University baseball field at 10 am.
