Joe Cantanese (Huntington, NY) took the loss for the Chargers.
In the second game, UML once again jumped out to an early lead, scoring two runs in the top of the third. But Dominican responded with two runs, both unearned, in the bottom of the third to knot the game.
The 2-2 score held up until the bottom of the seventh when the Chargers scored another unearned run, this time with the bases loaded. The winning run crossed the plate when UML catcher Graeme Clohsey’s (Derry, NH) throw back to the mound went off Donovan’s glove. Dominican starter Tommy Mejia (Brooklyn, NY) pitched six innings for the victorious Chargers, while Michael Mondesir (Jamaican, NY) earned the win in one inning of relief.
