Baseball Falls to Millersville, 10-4 

Blauvelt, NY (4/22/07) The Millersville University baseball team defeated visiting Dominican College Chargers, 10-4 this afternoon in a non-conference baseball game.

The game was tied 1-1 until the fifth inning when the Chargers scored a run on a home run to left field by Tommy Maloney (Massapequa Park, NY) to take a 2-1 lead.  The lead would be short lived as Millersville scored four runs on on five hits to take a 5-2 lead.  Millersivlle added two runs in the sixth and seventh and one in the eighth for the 10-4 victory.

In the top of the eighth, Dominican scored two runs on a double by Maloney after singles by Joe DiMicelli (Staten Island, NY) and Willie Mann (Patterson, NY).

Maloney finished the day 2-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored.  DiMicelli and Yordis Veras (East Elmhurst, NY) each had two hits in the loss.

Freshman Joe Zaccaro (Washingtonville, NY) got the loss, going four innings and allowing four runs on six hits.

With the loss the Chargers drop to 12-12 on the year, while Millersville improves to 9-32.

Dominican is back in action tomorrow when they host Post University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game.
