Blauvelt, NY (5/7/07) Dominican College baseball player, Matt Dilgen, has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Pitcher Of The Week for the second consecutive week as was announced by the conference office today.

Blauvelt, NY (5/7/07) Dominican College baseball player, Matt Dilgen, has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Pitcher Of The Week for the second consecutive week as was announced by the conference office today. Frank Quintana of Felician College earned Player Of The Week Honors, while Richard Melendez of Felician College garnered Rookie Of The Week Honors.
Dilgen, a senior from Staten Island, NY, pitched the
Chargers into the CACC Tournament with a gem against Bloomfield
College in a must-win game. He scattered four hits and did
not allow an earned run while striking out six Deacons in eight
solid innings.
Quintana, a senior hailing from Miami, FL, hit .550 with four home runs and 13 RBIs in leading Felician to a 5-1 week. He scored 14 runs and also stole two bases and had two doubles. He hit for a 1.250 slugging percentage.
Melendez, also from Miami, FL, is a freshman who hit .429 with seven RBIs and five runs scored. He collected five doubles and stole one base in a 5-1 week.
Honorable Mention
Ryan DePolo, Post - hit. 563 in a 3-0 week with seven runs, two RBI and two doubles. Had four hits in a win over Caldwell.
Brendan Wyman, Post - Picked up a win and a save last week and did not allow an earned run in 7.2 IP. Fanned 10 and walked three.
Peter GIlardo, Dominican - Hit three home runs along with a .500 average for the week. Drove in six runs and scored five times.
