Dominican College Men's Golf Season Preview

The 2007-08 Dominican College golf squad is posed to make a run at the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) and NCAA Division II Super Regionals.  Returning senior captain, Brian Mackey, named team MVP for the third consecutive year, selected for the CACC All-Conference team for the third straight year, finished fourth as an individual at the 2007 Super Regionals and named to the Ping Division II All-Region Northeast Team by the Golf Coaches Association of America for the second year, will look to make his last season his best as a Charger.

Returning junior, AJ Lee, a CACC All-Conference player for the past two season and last year’s Coach’s Award recipient and Michael Ciaravino will provide the Chargers with the talent and experience to carry the team to the next level.  These two players have worked very hard and will solidify the middle of the lineup.

Also returning are sophomore Brian Kivlehan and seniors Corey Stone and James Cardona.  These players will vie for the remaining spots on the starting squad with the addition of two new freshmen, Thomas Lalonde, a standout golfer from Red Hook High School and Kenneth Lee, a solid player from Nanuet High School.

Coach Mackey, entering his first year at the helm of the Chargers, is looking forward to the upcoming season.  Last year’s team was good, but this year’s team will be much better.  This season’s team could possibly be the best golf team the DC has ever fielded.  Narrowly missing several wins last year, including the CACC Championship and missing the NCAA Division II Super Regionals by one spot, the members of the Chargers Golf Team are eager to tee it up this season.
