Chargers Season Ends With CACC Quarter-Final Loss To #1 Philadelphia Rams, 71-67
Blauvelt, NY (2/27/07) The top seeded Philadelphia University Rams defeated eighth seeded Dominican College Chargers, 71-67 this evening to advance to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Semi-Finals. The Rams will face fifth seeded Caldwell College on Friday at 7:30 pm on Coach Baxter Court at Dominican College.

Blauvelt, NY (2/27/07) The top seeded Philadelphia University Rams defeated eighth seeded Dominican College Chargers, 71-67 this evening to advance to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Semi-Finals. The Rams will face fifth seeded Caldwell College on Friday at 7:30 pm on Coach Baxter Court at Dominican College.
CACC Player of the Year Christian Burns registered game-high totals of 24 points and 10 rebounds in helping the Rams avenge a loss to the Chargers last Saturday. In that game, Dominican won at home, 51-36. Philadelphia was able to surpass that point total in the first half (40) this time around. After leading by a 50-27 count early in the second half, Burns went to the bench with four fouls and the Chargers responded with a 28-11 run to get within six, 61-55. Dominican (13-15) pulled to within three twice in the final minute, but the Rams were able to hold on.
Philadelphia (20-8) was aided by 16 points from both junior forward Jason Hickenbottom and freshman point guard Russell Frederick.
Senior first-team All-Conference forward Prince Jackson (Schenectady, NY) led Dominican with 19 points and six rebounds, while sophomore guard Will Carty (Bronx, NY) had 18 points and went 3-for-3 from long range. Junior Ron Wyatt (Washingtonville, NY) netted 20 points and six rebounds in the loss.
