Mankato, MN (11/17/06) The University of Minnesota Duluth men's basketball team struck first on the scoreboard and never relenquished the lead as they defeated Dominican College, from Orangeburg, N.Y., Friday afternoon 67-53 in the first round of the Pepsi Tip-Off in Mankato, Minn.

Mankato, MN (11/17/06) The University of
Minnesota Duluth men's basketball team struck first on the
scoreboard and never relenquished the lead as they defeated
Dominican College, from Orangeburg, N.Y., Friday afternoon 67-53 in
the first round of the Pepsi Tip-Off in Mankato, Minn.
The Bulldogs had four starters drop in double scoring figures, a
trend that is fast becoming a trademark of the maroon and gold.
Jordan Nuness led UMD for the second straight game
with 15 points, including 3-of-6 shooting from the 3-point line.
John Vaudreuil added 12 points, while seniors
Bryan Foss and Matt Rawley both
rounded out the line with 11 points each. Ryan
Breidenbach grabbed a game and career-high 12 boards to
contribute to the starters parade on the afternoon.
Prince Jackson (Schenectady, NY) had a
game-high 21 points for the Chargers, (0-1). Sophomore
Zerimar Ramirez (Pawtucket, RI) had eight points
and seven rebounds off the bench.
The Chargers return to the Taylor Center Saturday night
when they take on host Minnesota State University at Mankato
at 8pm.
