ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY- Thirteen Lions scored in the 19-4 victory over the Chargers of Dominican College on March 22 in a non-conference game. Molloy remains undefeated (4-0) on the season, while the Chargers fell to 1-4.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY- Thirteen Lions scored in the 19-4 victory over the Chargers of Dominican College on March 22 in a non-conference game. Molloy remains undefeated (4-0) on the season, while the Chargers fell to 1-4.
Junior Dan Lamonica (Oceanside, NY) found junior Mike Nucero (Merrick, NY) who netted the first goal for the Lions as five minutes came off the clock in the first half. Three minutes later, Nucero scored another goal to give Molloy a 3-0 advantage and the Lions held the 5-1 lead at the end of one. Freshman Keith Galante (N. Massapequa, NY) started the scoring in the second quarter when he put one between the pipes at the 11:38 minute mark. Senior Stephen Maier’s (Farmingdale, NY) goal at the buzzer gave the Lions a seven goal cushion at halftime (10-3).
Molloy’s defense held strong during the third quarter as they allowed no goals and sophomore Tim Pressler (East Meadow, NY) stopped the Chargers only two shots. Freshman Mike Ryan (Farmingdale, NY) scored two of his four goals during the third quarter and the Lions saw a 13-3 advantage. Freshman Jelani Rose (Elmont, NY) capped off a six goal fourth quarter for Molloy when he netted his first collegiate goal with three minutes left in the game.
Ryan led the team with four goals, while Maier passed out five assists and notched a goal. Nucero finished the game with two goals and dished out three assists. Junior Justin Bono (Woodbridge, NY) and Galante each added two goals during the game. Junior James Campbell (New Hyde Park, NY) started in the net and allowed three goals with three saves in his 30 minutes of play. Pressler played between the pipes for the second half, while he made five saves and allowed one goal.
For the Chargers, freshman Remo Montalbano (Saugerties, NY) and sophomore Micah Brown (Flanders, NY) each had two goals in the loss. Joe Cobis (Riverhead, NY) had an assist.
The Chargers are back in action on Sunday, March 26th when they host Mercyhurst College at 1pm.
