St. Anselm Hawks Defeat Dominican Chargers, 13-6

Blauvelt, NY (3/2/07) The St. Anselm Hawks men's lacrosse team defeated the Dominican College Chargers, 13-6 this afternoon at Suffern High School.

Blauvelt, NY (3/2/07) The St. Anselm Hawks men's lacrosse team defeated the Dominican College Chargers, 13-6 this afternoon at Suffern High School.

DC trailed 6-5 at the half, but St. Anselm netted four goals in the third quarter en route to the 13-6 lead.

The Chargers got three goals from sophomore Jeremy Arcaro (New Windsor, NY), two from Alex Jones (St. Albert, AB) and one from Remo Montalbano (Saugerties, NY). Junior Joe Cobis (Riverhead, NY) had two assists, while Owen Smith III (Cornwall, NY) added one assist in the loss.

Matt O'Connell had four goals and one assist for the Hawks in the win. Chris Murphy netted three goals, while Matt Surette added two goals. Ryan McDonald, Joe Costello, Alex Cubberley and Jon Deyeso each had one goal in the win. Biran Hubert and Steve Trocki each had two assists, while John Griffin, James Morin all had one assist.

With the win St. Anselm improves to 2-0, while Dominican falls to 0-2.

The Chargers are back in action on March 8 when they take on Mars Hill College at 4pm.
