Blauvelt, NY (3/28/07) The Dominican College Chargers lacrosse team dropped an East Coast Conference (ECC) game to #10 Adelphi University, 18-4 this afternoon at the DC Lacrosse Field.

(3/28/07) The Dominican College Chargers lacrosse
team dropped an East Coast Conference (ECC) game to #10 Adelphi
University, 18-4 this afternoon at the DC Lacrosse Field.
AU took a 5-1 lead after the first quarter and led 9-3 at the
half. The Panthers added five more in the third
quarter and four in the fourth for the 19-4
victory. DC goals came in the first quarter, two
in the second and one in the fourth.
Freshman Ian Kuchta (Norwalk, CT) led the panthers
with 7 goals , while Stephen Mortimer (Adelaide,
Australia) had three goals.
Michael Gongas (Port Jefferson, NY), Tyler
Burton (Elbridge, NY) and Jason Fietta (Syracuse,
NY) all had two goals in the win.
Gongas led the panthers with eight assists, while
Marc Burton (Mississauga, Ontario ) had three
assists.
The Chargers were led by Alex Jones (St. Albert,
AB) with two goals. Joe Cobis
(Riverhead, NY) and Dan Celebre (Lake Grove,
NY) each had a goal in the loss.
Sean Murphy (Pearl River,
NY) had two assists,
while Owen Smith III (Cornwall, NY) had one
assist.
The Panthers out shot the Chargers, 37-16 and had the advantage on
the faceoffs, 16 to 8.
Panther keeper Devin
Schneiderbauer (Pepperell, MA) had four saves in 46:27
minutes, while Drew Smith (East Hampton, NY) had
two saves.
Charger keeper Joe Assante (Weston, NY) had 13
saves in the loss.
With the win, Adelphi improves to 3-3 overall and 1-0 in the ECC,
while the Chargers fall to 1-6 overall and 0-4 in the ECC.
Dominican is back in action on Wednesday, April 4th when
they host New York Institute of Technology in ECC men’s
lacrosse action. Game time is 4pm at the DC Lacrosse
Field.
