New Haven, CT (9/10/07) Caldwell College junior forward Luis Sartorio has been named Men's Soccer Player of the Week in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) for the period ending Sunday, September 9. Joe Wright of Dominican College was chosen Rookie of the Week.

New Haven, CT (9/10/07) Caldwell College junior forward Luis Sartorio has been named Men's Soccer Player of the Week in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) for the period ending Sunday, September 9. Joe Wright of Dominican College was chosen Rookie of the Week.
Sartorio, a 5-10 junior forward from Asuncion, Paraguay, scored twice, including the game-winning goal, as the Cougars defeated C.W. Post, 3-1. It was the squad's first win of the season.
Wright, a sophomore forward from
Stratford-Upon-Avon, NY, collected one goal and one assist in a 2-0
win over Wilmington to open the CACC season. He assisted on the
first goal and added an insurance goal in the 72nd minute.
Honorable Mention
Tim Conway, Nyack (Sr., M, Billerica, MA) - Scored two goals and one assist in wins against Roberts Wesleyan and Dist. of Columbia.
Julian Gaviria, Bloomfield) - Posted a shutout against New Haven in a 1-0 victory and made 10 saves, including on a penalty kick in the second half.
Andrew Thorne, Chestnut Hill - Scored two goals for the second straight game, and added an assist, in a victory over Polytechnic University.
CACC Men's Soccer Notes
Caldwell - Luis Sartorio scored twice, including the game-winner, as the Cougars defeated C.W. Post, 3-1 on Sunday, Sept. 9 for their first win of the season. Olof Engh netted the game-tying goal in the 81st minute to help Caldwell come back to tie Mercy 1-1 on Thursday, Sept. 6.
Chestnut Hill - First 2-0 start in team history. The Griffins have upcoming games on 9/10 vs. Neumann College, 9/12 at Queens College and 9/15 vs. Caldwell College.
Felician - Senior co-captain defender Greg Patullo scored his first collegiate goal in Saturday's loss to St. Thomas Aquinas in career game No. 43.
Post - Post dropped a 1-0 decision to Holy Family in its first CACC contest of the season last Saturday. Senior Marco Gaspar had seven saves in net for the Eagles. Post returns to action on Tuesday, as it welcomes in-state rival the University of New Haven to LaMoy Field for a 4 p.m. kickoff.
