ARTEAGA NAMED MEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK FOR THIRD TIME
New Haven, CT (10/8/07) Jhonny Arteaga of Dominican College has been named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the third time for the week ending Sunday, Oct. 7. Fellow Charger Joe Wright has earned Rookie of the Week honors for the fourth time this season.

New Haven, CT (10/8/07) Jhonny Arteaga
of Dominican College has been named Central Atlantic Collegiate
Conference (CACC) Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the third
time for the week ending Sunday, Oct. 7. Fellow Charger Joe Wright
has earned Rookie of the Week honors for the fourth time this
season.
Arteaga, a 5-11 senior forward from Stamford, CT, recorded three goals and three assists in a 2-0 week for the Chargers. He scored two goals along with two assists in a key CACC win over Caldwell. He also added a goal and assisted on the game-winner in a 3-2 victory at Holy Family.
Wright, a 6-0 freshman forward from Stratford-Upon-Avon,
England, collected three goals and one assist in a 2-0 week. He had
two goals and one assist in a win over Caldwell and scored the
game's first goal at Holy Family.
Honorable Mention
Eurica Trowers, Post (So., F, 5-9, Bronx, NY) - Scored four goals for the week, including three against Felician.
Augustine Aguilera, Wilmington (Jr., M, El Paso, TX) - Netted the only goal in a 1-0 triumph over Holy Family.
John Wood, Chestnut Hill (Jr., D, 5-8, Lancaster, PA) - Scored the game-winning goal 5:04 into OT against Nyack.
CACC Men's Soccer Notes
Chestnut Hill - The Griffins earned their first-ever CACC victory with a 2-1 overtime triumph over Nyack on Saturday. Junior John Wood netted the winning goal 5:04 into the extra session.
Post - Sophomore Eurica Trowers scored three times, for the
second time this season, in a 3-1 win at home against Felician. He
also added the game-winner in the 89th minute on the road at
Goldey-Beacom. Trowers leads the team with 10 goals for 20 points
on the season.
