Lakewood, N.J. (5/7/17) The Dominican College men's track and field squad finished in fourth place overall at the 2017 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championships held today on the campus of Georgian Court University.
As a team, the Chargers finished with a team score of 49 en route to the fourth place finish.
Sophomore Seth Wilson (Monroe, N.Y.) won the 100m dash with a time of 10.75 and the 200m dash with a time of 22.26.
Michael Merced (Pearl River, N.Y.) finished second in the 200m dash with a time of 22.76. He also took second place in the 400m dash with a time of 49.60.
Sophomore Andrew Pierre (Spring Valley, N.Y.) also competed in the 100m dash where he took fourth place with a time of 11.57 and Dylan Roadarmel (New City, N.Y.) had a time of 12.15 to finish in 13th place. Elijah Castro (Bergenfield, N.J.) took 18th place with a time of 12.33.
Pierre also competed in the 200m dash where he finished in 17th place with a time of 24.75. He also took part in the high jump where he finished in 13th place with a jump of 1.67m (5 feet, 5.75 inches).
Freshman Rollens Florvil (Spring Valley, N.Y.) took part in the 400m dash and finished 17th with a time of 54.23.
The 4x400m relay team of Florvil, Wilson, Adam Klein (Nanuet, N.Y.) and Merced ran a time of 3:31.56 to finish in third place overall.
In the long jump event, Justin Estevez (Nanuet, N.Y.) took seventh place with a jump of 6.41m (21 feet, 0.50 inches). He took ninth place in the triple jump with a jump of 12.18m (39 feet, 11.50 inches).
Thrower George Psarakis (Monroe, N.Y.) competed in the shot put and took 11th place with a throw of 10.70m (35 feet, 1.25 inches). He took 12th place in the discus throw with a throw of 30.42m (99 feet, 10 inches) and 19th place in the javlein throw with a throw of 27.76m (91 feet, 1 inch).
Senior Joseph Faulborn (Dumont, N.J.) finished in 23rd in the javelin throw with a throw of 18.70m (61 feet, 4 inches).
