Joe Burbridge

Coach Burbridge was named Head Softball Coach in June of 2008 after spending the 2008 season as the Interim Head Coach.  He returned to DC after spending the 2007 season as the Adelphi University Head Coach.  He compiled a record of 39-13, while setting a school record for wins.  The Panthers won the ECC Regular Season Title with a 18-2 record and was ranked as high as 8th in the country, in addition to earning a berth in the NCAA Regional Tournament.

Burbridge spent the 2005 and 2006 seasons as an assistant coach on the Dominican staff. As the Interim Coach in 2008, he led the Lady Chargers to a 30-24 overall record and an 18-4 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) this season.  The team finished in third place in the CACC and swept a non-conference double-header from the eventual CACC Champions, Caldwell College.  DC went into the CACC Tournament with the third place seed and lost in the semi-finals to Holy Family University. He returned to Dominican last season as an assistant.

In addition to his coaching duties, Burbridge was named Assistant Director of the Hennessy Center in August of 2009.

Coach Burbridge is a graduate of Ramapo College of New Jersey.  He received his master's degree from Seton Hall University.  He and his wife, Joann live in Mahwah, NJ with their daughter, Colleen Paige, who was born on October 27, 2006.

Mike Palius
Title: Assistant Coach Softball

Coach Palius enters his third season on the Lady Charger staff.

He will be responsible for the strength and conditioning program of the Lady Chargers softball squad.  Coach Palius holds a certificate from the World Instructor Training School and freelances as a personal trainer and in human resources/compensation consulting.  Prior to that, he worked as a compensation manager for numerous companies over the last ten years.

A graduate of Ramapo College of New Jersey, Palius received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications.  He currently resides in Ramsey, NJ.

Jacqueline Cross
Title: Assistant Coach Softball

Coach Cross enters her first year on the Lady Charger staff.

Coach Cross comes to Dominican after a stellar four year career at NCAA Division I St. Peter's College in Jersey City, NJ.  Playing both first base and catcher for the Peahens, she sported a .531 slugging percentage and .993 fielding percentage in 31 games in 2009.  Cross was a three-time All-MAAC Academic team selection.

Cross spent her high school years at Nanuet High School  where she was a Rockland Scholar Athlete, All-Section, Second Team All State, and All-County selections.

A 2009 graduate of St. Peter's College Cross earned a B.A. degree in Spanish with a minor in Secondary Education.

Julie Schaper
Title: Pitching Coach Softball

Coach Schaper enters her second year on the DC coaching staff.

Coach Schaper comes to Dominican after an outstanding collegiate career at Adelphi University where she holds the school records (records are since Adelphi became an NCAA Divsion II team) in both strikeouts and shutouts.  She ranks second in all-time apperances, wins, innings pitched and games started in the Panther Record Book.  Schaper also holds the single-season records for innings pitched, wins, strikeouts, appearances and shutouts.

She will be responsible for working with the pitchers on a day to day basis.

A 2008 graduate of Adelphi University, she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and minored in Secondary Education and graduated with a 3.81 GPA.

Coach Schaper currently resides in Warwick, NY.
