Wilmington College Wildcats Defeat Dominican Lady Chargers, 3-0

Blauvelt, NY (9/23/06) The Wilmington College women’s volleyball team defeated Dominican College in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action this afternoon at the Hennessy Center.

Blauvelt, NY (9/23/06) The Wilmington College women's volleyball team defeated Dominican College in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action this afternoon at the Hennessy Center.

WC won the first game 30-26, took control in the second game for a 30-24 win and squeezed by in the third game with a 30-27 victory for the 3-0 win.

The Wildcats were led by senior outside hitter Kristin Wiedeman (Doswell, VA) with the game's only double-double with 12 kills and 14 digs.  Brittani Leathern (Wilmington, DE) added 11 kils, while Jodi Fridinger (Parkville, MD) led the team with 17 digs.  Junior setter Cheyann Gilroy (Bryans Road, MD) had 35 assists and 10 digs in the win.

The Lady Chargers were led by sophomore outside hitter Kinikia Collier (Garnerville, NY) with 11 kills.  Junior Tara Leahy (Highland Falls, NY) added 4 kills, while Antoinette Hackett (Pearl River, NY) led the team with 18 digs.  Sophomore setter Kaitlin Earl (Greenville, NY) had 26 assists in the loss.

With the win, Wilmington improves to 3-15 overall and 3-2 in the CACC, while Dominican falls to 1-11 overall and 1-5 in the CACC.

Dominican will be in action on Tuesday September 26th when they travel to Felician College for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match scheduled for 7pm.
