Lady Tigers Beat Lady Chargers, 66-52

Philadelphia, Pa. (1/10/06) A second half run of 13-2 aided Holy Family as the Tigers (9-1, 7-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference) defeated Dominican (NY) (6-6, 4-3 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference) 66-52 Tuesday night.

With the win, Holy Family head coach Mike McLaughin reached his 300th career win in just 349 games. He is in 11th season as coach of the Tigers, and has not had a losing season in his 11 years.

The run came with 14 minutes left in the second half, which broke open a 40-40 tie. From that point, Holy Family never led the lead drop below eight points. The win was their ninth straight, after dropping their opening game.

Megan Bauer (Jr./Norwood, PA/Ridley) a team-high 19 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. She also had her sixth double-double of the season.

Holy Family jumped out to an early 13-7 lead with 16:39 left on a three-pointer by Katie Dunn (Fr./Whippany, NJ/Morris Catholic). The lead increased to nine, which Holy Family remained, before Dominican started to chip away at the lead with five minutes remaining in the half.

Dominican forced the second tie of the game at 30-30, via a 5-0 run with 2:46 left in the opening half when Danielle Dugan connected on a three-pointer.

After Bauer scored on a layup with 2:15 left, Dominican tied the score at the half 32 on a jumper by Beth Depalo at the buzzer. Dominican tied the Tigers at the half thanks to a 9-for-9 performance from the foul line in the first half. Holy Family shot just 35.3 percent (12-of-34) in the opening half.

In the second half, Holy Family held Dominican to just 25.9 percent (7-of-27) shooting from the floor. The Chargers also connected on just 5-of-8 of their foul shots.

Chrissy Kosiek (So./Philadelphia, PA/St. Hubert's) and Dunn also finished with 14 points, as Holy Family enjoyed a 40-34 advantage on the boards.

Jackie Tracey (Bronx, NY) had 19 points for Dominican, while Ashley Rossi(Greenwood Lake, NY) had 14.
