Blauvelt, NY (2/1/07) The Dominican College Lady Chargers rallied from a 11 point deficit at halftime to defeat the Bloomfield College Deacons, 75-63 this evening on Coach Baxter Court in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference womens action.
Lady Chargers Second Half Rally Leads To Victory Over Bloomfield Deacons
Blauvelt, NY(2/1/07) The
Dominican College Lady Chargers rallied from a 11 point deficit at
halftime to defeat the Bloomfield College Deacons, 75-63 this
evening on Coach Baxter Court in Central Atlantic Collegiate
Conference women’s action.
Trailing 29-40 at halftime, DC went on
an 11-0 run to start the second half to tie the game at 40-40 on a
three point bucket by senior Beth DePalo (Rumson,
NJ). Dominican took the lead, 43-42 with
14:50 to go in the game on a jumper by sophomore Althea
Chambers (Yonkers, NY) and never looked back.
The Deacons were led by junior Marissa Franklin
with 20 points and nine rebounds.
DeAnjole Felton netted 16 points, while
Shantae Barnes had the game’s only
double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Senior Jackie Tracey-Spitaleri (Bronx, NY) led the
Lady Chargers with a career high 23 points, eight rebounds, six
assists and a game leading seven steals.
Freshman Adele Laskowski (Wayne, NJ) netted 16
points in the win, while sophomore Shalissa Burgess
(Englewood, NJ) came off the bench to score 10 points.
With the win, the Lady Chargers improve to 14-6 overall and 10-5 in
the CACC play, while Bloomfield falls to 11-8 overall and 10-5 in
the CACC.
The Lady Chargers are back in action on Monday when they travel to Caldwell College in CACC women’s action. Game time is scheduled for 6pm.
