LADY CHARGERS RALLY FALLS SHORT AS SPARTANS WIN

Sparkill, NY (9/29/08)  The Dominican College Lady Chargers rally fell short this evening as the St. Thomas Aquinas College Spartans won a non-conference women's soccer team, 3-2 at the Herb Reisman Field.

The Spartans netted the game's first goal at 24:55 as Katherine Dapolito received the forward pass from Liz Gronwoldt and was able to put it in the net.

In the second half, STAC took a 2-0 lead as Christine Kennelly recovered a wide shot by Nicole Biolsi and put it in the net.

Biolsi lifted the Spartans to a 3-0 lead at 65:41 as recovered a deflected shot and netted the goal.

DC got on the board at 89:58 as Rosa Centurion (Mamaroneck, NY) netted her second goal in two days as she put the ball over the goalie's head.

Just as time was about to expire, senior Angela Correia (Elizabeth, NJ) had a breakaway goal for the final 3-2 St. Thomas Aquinas College victory.

With the victory the Spartans improve to 2-5-2 overall ,while the Lady Chargers fall to 3-5-1 overall.

The Lady Chagers are back in action on Thursday when they travel to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opponent Caldwell College.  Game time is slated for 3:30 pm.
