Orangeburg, N.Y. (10/3/17)  The Dominican College women's volleyball team suffered a 3-0 setback to the visiting Cougars of Caldwell University this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match played on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.

The Cougars took the match in consecutive sets by the scores of 25-13, 25-21, and 25-9.

Sophomores Deanna Knopf (Hauppauge, N.Y.) and Gabrielle Napoleon (Springfield, Pa.) each recorded six kills and combined for three service aces, while Napoleon had a .235 attack percentage and Knopf recorded a team best eight digs.

Essence Boyd (Peekskill, N.Y.) had a team best 14 assists, while Malia Robinson (Jersey City, N.J.) and Natalia Perez (Prosper, Texas) tallied six digs each in the loss.

The second set was tied at 6-6 when Dominican (0-16, 0-7 CACC) went on a 6-2 run, capped off by a Napoleon service ace, to take a 12-8 advantage and later a 3-0 spurt would put them in front, 16-12.  Caldwell would rally and with the set tied at 21-all, four straight Caldwell points led them to the set win and 2-0 match lead.

Chloe Kissner paced the Cougars with 11 kills.  Jessica Mitchell added a night best 11 digs and Jordan Hoffman recorded 16 digs.

The Lady Chargers will travel to Concordia College this coming Friday night.
