#13 MEN'S SOCCER DEFEATS MERCY COLLEGE
Orangeburg, NY (9/29/09) The Dominican College men's soccer team, ranked 13th nationally in the latest NSCAA/Adidas Division II Poll, defeated non-conference opponent, Mercy College, 4-0 this afternoon at the DC Soccer Field.

The Chargers got on the board at the 16:48 mark as senior forward Joe Wright (Stratford-Upon-Avon, England) netted his first goal of the game off the tap pass from sophomore Alan Heavey (Huntington Station, NY).
DC took a 2-0 lead in the 27th minute of action as senior James Hamilton (Paisley, Scotland) netted his second goal of the season off Heavey's second assist of the day.
Wright tallied his second goal of the game and his team leading 12th of the season at 74:12 off the pass from freshman James Flaherty (London, England) to give Dominican a 3-0 lead.
Flaherty netted the Chargers final goal of the game at 84:31 off the pass from freshman Alejandro Monsalve (Medellin, Colombia) as DC went on to the 4-0 victory.
Charger goalie Brandon Heembrock (Ottawa, Canada) made four saves in the win, while Maverick goalie Martin Walsh (Dublin, Ireland) had three saves in the loss.
With the victory Dominican improves to 8-0-2 overall, while Mercy falls to 2-5.
Dominican is back in action this weekend when they travel to Chestnut Hill College for a 3pm Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game.
