Philadelphia, P.A. (9/8/18) The Dominican College Men's Soccer team opened CACC play with the Rams of Jefferson University on Saturday. The Chargers, 0-3-0 (0-1-0 CACC), fell to the Rams by a score of 3-0. The Rams, 2-2-0 (1-0-0 CACC), scored all three goals in the first half to secure the win.
Tyler Doll (St. Louis, Mo.) started in goal for the Chargers and recorded three saves. Andrew Menjivar started in goal for the Rams and earned the shutout win to improve his record to 2-2-0 on the season.
In the first half, the Rams opened the scoring quickly with two goals in just over five minutes. Jason Rocha gave the Rams the 1-0 lead at the 1:36 mark of the opening half off the assist from Musa Kolombe.
Sebastien Durand extended the Rams' lead to 2-0 at the 5:06 mark of the first half off the feed from Jason Rocha. At the 35:12 mark, Theophilus Ijeboi gave the Rams a 3-0 lead and was assisted by Charlie Livesey.
The second half went scoreless and the Rams ultimately secured the 3-0 victory.
The Chargers will be back in action on Tuesday, September 11th for their home opener when they host the Warriors of Nyack College at 3:30 PM.
