Waterbury Conn. (10/9/18) The Post University men's soccer team defeated the visiting Chargers of Dominican College, 4-1, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match played on LaMoy Field.
The Eagles netted the match's first goal in the third minute of action and held the lead for a little over 20 minutes until freshman midfielder Maximino Casares Martinez (Ciudad de Panama, Panama) scored his first collegiate goal to tie the score, 1-1.
The score would remained tied until the 46th minute when Post regained the lead and would add two more goals to go on to the 4-1 victory.
Both teams recorded 14 shots in the contest, while nine of the Charger shots were on goal.
Joshua Stephens (Stony Creek, Ontario) made five saves in 81:28 minutes of action.
With the loss, Dominican is now 4-9 overall and 3-6 in the CACC.
DC is scheduled to host Shepherd University this coming Saturday afternoon. Kick off is slated for 2:30 pm on the DC Soccer Field.
