COUGARS EDGE MEN'S SOCCER IN OVERTIME

Caldwell, N.J. (10/17/18) The Dominican College men's soccer team fell in overtime, 2-1, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) men's soccer match played at Kiwanis Oval.

CU opened the scoring with a goal in the 24th minute and would maintain that lead until the 85:10 mark when sophomore midfielder Lester Gudiel (Stamford, Conn.) scored his second goal of the season on a shot from the top of the box to tie the match, 1-1.

The game-winner game 1:53 seconds into the first overtime period for the Cougars, who improve to 6-8-1 overall and 6-4-1 in the CACC.

Adam Atkinson (Harrogate, England) and Anthony Contero (Washingtonville, N.Y.) each had two shots in the contest.

Keeper Tyler Doll (St. Louis, Mo.) made seven saves in the loss.

Dominican falls to 5-10 overall and 3-7 in conference play.

The Chargers will host Wilmington University this coming Saturday.  Kickoff is slated for 2:30 pm on the DC Soccer Field.
