Nyack, NY (1/17/08) The visiting Lady Chargers of Dominican College won their fourth straight Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game this evening as they dominated the Nyack College Warriors, 71-51 at Bowman Gymnasium.

Nyack, NY (1/17/08) The visiting Lady Chargers of Dominican College won their fourth straight Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game this evening as they dominated the Nyack College Warriors, 71-51 at Bowman Gymnasium.
Dominican went on a 12-4 run early in the game to take a 16-6 lead with 12:25 to go before the break. Nyack cut the lead to four, but DC regained a double digit lead for the 34-23 halftime lead.
In the second half, DC continued to dominate play with the smallest Lady Charger lead being seven points early in the second half. Sophomore Rachelle Sainten (Spring Valley, NY) had a 6-0 solo run, highlighted by two three point buckets.
Dominican was led by junior Althea Chambers (Yonkers,
NY) with 18 points, six rebounds, four assists and two
steals. Sainten finished with 14 points
(6-12, 2-2 from three point land), while forward Adele
Laskowski (Wayne, NJ) netted 12 points. Senior guard
Dana Rotio (Garfield,, NJ) scored 10 points, five
rebounds, four assists and a game leading six steals in the win.
Nyack was led by Kaarina Stearns with 18 points (7-11) and six rebounds. Shooter Kelsy McIntosh had nine points in the loss.
The Lady Chargers shot 49.2% from the floor for the game to Nyack's 32.7%. The Warriors out rebounded DC 36-32.
With the win, Dominican improves to 11-3 overall and 5-1 in the CACC, while Nyack falls to 5-9 overall and 2-4 in conference play.
DC is back in action on Saturday when they host Philadelphia University in CACC women's hoops action. Game time is 1pm on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.
