Rockville Centre, N.Y. (9/8/19) The Dominican College women's soccer team finished play at the Molloy Kickoff Classic with a 5-1 loss to Stonehill College in a game played this John A. Darcy Field.

The Lady Chargers got on the scoreboard first as sophomore forward Megan Geary (Campbell Hall, N.Y.) netted her first goal of the season off the assist from Abby Montera (New City, N.Y.) to take a 1-0 lead at the 29 minute mark.

About three and a half minutes later the Skyhawks tied teh game at 1-all and added another goal before the break.  In the second half, SC added three more goals for the 5-1 win.

Junior Lauren Buchanan (Union, N.J.) made 11 saves in the first 74:01, while Jasmine Pesante (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) had five saves in the last 15:59 in the net.

Following the loss, Dominican now stands at 0-2 on the season.

Dominican will have their home opener this coming Thursday afternoon when they host non-conference opponent, Roberts Wesleyan College.
