Orangeburg, N.Y. (9/12/19) The Dominican College women's soccer team suffered a 2-1 double overtime setback to the visiting Redhawks of Roberts Wesleyan College in a non-conference game played this afternoon on OMM Field #5.
With the loss, Dominican is now 0-3 on the season.
Sophomore forward Megan Geary (Campbell Hall, N.Y.) netted her second goal of the season to give DC the 1-0 lead in the 24th minute of play off the cross into the box from freshman Danai Chimedza (Dacula, Ga.).
RWC tied the contest four minutes later on a shot in the box following a cross from the right side.
The game would remained tied for almost 80 minutes until the Redhawks used a cross from the right side off the foot of Israela Groves to give Morgan Razzano the game-winning shot and goal from the top of the box for the 2-1 victory.
Both teams had 11 shots in the game, while RWC held the 6-4 advantage in corner kicks.
Keeper Lauren Buchanan (Union, N.J.) made four saves in the loss.
The Lady Chargers return to action on Sunday afternoon when they host Salem International College.
