GEARY SCORES TWICE IN TIE WITH FELICIAN UNIVERSITY

Lyndhurst, N.J. (10/15/19) The Dominican College women's soccer team earned their third tie of the season with the Felician University Golden Falcons by a score of 2-2. 

The Lady Chargers took 27 shots in the game and recorded 16 shots on goal. Lauren Buchanan (Union, N.J.) and Lynne Garofalo (Ridgefield, N.J.) split time in net for the Lady Chargers. Buchanan recorded four saves and Garofalo recorded one save. 

The Golden Falcons took 14 shots and recorded seven on goal. Jamie Kazenmayer made 14 saves for Felician. Paloma Garcia and Danielle Jenkin each took three shots for the Golden Falcons. 

Abby Montera (New City, N.Y.) led the Lady Chargers in shots with a total of seven and three recorded on goal. Danai Chimedza (Dacula, Ga.) took four shots while Megan Geary (Campbell Hall, N.Y.) also took four shots and scored both DC goals. 

Both goals by Geary were scored early in the first half to help give the Lady Chargers a quick 2-0 lead. Danielle Gillespie (New City, N.Y.) and Bailey Cummings (Clarkstown, N.Y.) recorded an assist on each goal for DC. 

The Golden Falcons scored two unanswered goals to tie the game. Joanne Arvanitakis started the comeback for Felician with a goal in the first half with Danielle Jenkin earning the assist. The game remained 2-1 at halftime. Alexa Fischetto tied the game early in the second half. 

Both teams went scoreless in both overtime periods and the game eventually ended in a 2-2 tie. 

The Lady Chargers will be back in action on Wednesday, October 23rd when they return home to host the Post University Eagles at 2:00 PM at OMM Field #5.
