WOMEN'S SOCCER PLAY TO 1-1 TIE WITH HOLY FAMILY UNIVERSITY

Bardonia, N.Y. (11/3/19) The Dominican College women's soccer team played to a 1-1 double overtime tie with the visiting Tigers of Holy Family University this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game.

Today was senior day for the Lady Chargers as the team honored seniors: #4 Taylor Calero, #12 Danielle Gillespie and #16 Lauren Drake.

The game was scoreless throug the first 46 minutes until the Tigers struck for a goal off the foot of Kait Findlay off the cross from Jess Elliott for the 1-0 advantage.

Dominican tied the game at the 69:23 mark when freshman forward Danai Chimedza (Dacula, Ga.) dribbled up the middle and took a shot from 10 yards out to knot the score, 1-1.

Both teams had opportunities in the overtime periods as HFU had the 3-1 edge in the first OT, while each team had a shot in the second.

For the contest, each team took 16 shots, while the Tigers had a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Keeper Lauren Buchanan (Union, N.J.) made eight saves in the game.

Dominican (5-8-4, 3-4-4) will travel to Bloomfield College this coming Wednesday night in their regular season finale.
