Post Volleyball Wins First CACC Match Of The Season
Waterbury, Conn.-Senior Tadj Williams (Albany, N.Y./Bishop Maginn) and sophomore Kerry Smith (Lynbrook, N.Y./Lynbrook) each had double-digit kill totals to lead the Post University volleyball team to a 3-0 (30-23, 30-28, 30-24) sweep of Dominican College, Tuesday evening at the Drubner Center.

Waterbury, Conn.-Senior Tadj Williams (Albany, N.Y./Bishop Maginn) and sophomore Kerry Smith (Lynbrook, N.Y./Lynbrook) each had double-digit kill totals to lead the Post University volleyball team to a 3-0 (30-23, 30-28, 30-24) sweep of Dominican College, Tuesday evening at the Drubner Center.
Williams led all players with 15 kills, while Smith was second on the team with 12, and recorded her third double-double in a row with 10 digs for the Eagles (1-6, 1-0 CACC).
Freshman Gabrielle Hopkins (Yonkers, N.Y./Marble Hill) recorded a career-high 40 assists and eight digs, and sophomore Michelle Stotz (Naugatuck, Conn./Naugatuck) led Post with 13 digs.
Kinikia Collier (Garnerville, NY) led Dominican (0-5, 0-1 CACC) with 11 kills, while Antoinette Hacket (Pearl River, NY) led all players with 20 digs. Kaitlin Earl (Greenville, NY) had 16 assists.
Post held a 49-32 margin in kills, and a slight 2.0 to 1.0 edge in blocks. Both teams recorded 62 digs. Post had an excellent serving evening, recording 13 service aces, led by junior Vicky Ducharme (Nashua, N.H./Nashua) who had six. Hopkins was second on the team with four.
As a team the Eagles finished with a .225 hitting percentage, while Dominican hit .133 on the evening.
Post begins a three-match road trip, starting on Thursday at Nyack College, at 7 p.m. Dominican returns home to host Bloomfield College on Thursday.
