Dominican Defeats Felician In Three

Rutherford, N.J. - Dominican (N.Y.) College used solid defense and strong late-game play to earn a 3-0 (30-23 30-24 30-27) Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference volleyball victory over host Felician College on Tuesday night at Job Gym.
After pulling away early in the first game, Dominican (2-11, 2-5) broke a 24-24 tie by scoring the last six points of Game 2. Felician had come back from a 17-10 deficit to pull even. Trailing 27-26 in Game 3, the Chargers scored four unanswered points to seal the match.
The Dominican defense totaled 63 digs and allowed Felician (1-9, 1-6) only three service aces. Ashley Simpson (Spring Valley, NY/Spring Valley) hit .348 with a team-high 11 kills and libero Antoinette Hackett (Pearl River, NY/Pearl River) totaled 17 digs.
LaKeisha Milstrey (Bronx, NY/Lehman) led all hitters with 19 kills and added 10 digs and Nicole Niedzwicki (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Catholic) had 17 digs for Felician.
