Georgian Court University Tops Dominican Lady Chargers, 3-0

Blauvelt, NY (10/21/06) The Georgian Court University women’s volleyball team defeated the Dominican College Lady Chargers, 3-0 this afternoon in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action on the Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.

Blauvelt, NY (10/21/06)     The Georgian Court University women's volleyball team defeated the Dominican College Lady Chargers, 3-0 this afternoon in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action on the Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.

The first game was a close knit battle between both teams with Georgian Court edging out DC, 30-28.  GCU took game two 30-22 and won the decisive third game 30-18.

The Lions were led by freshman Lissette Zayas (Naranjito, PR) with 10 kills, while junior Ann Casado (Brick, NJ) added nine kills and 15 assists.  Claudimary Rivera (Carolina, PR) and Billeny Rivera (Toa Baja, PR) each had seven kills in the win.  Freshman Lisamary Figueroa-Collazo (Toa Alta, PR) had 11 assists.

The Lady Chargers were led by senior Jessica Zanotti (Garfield, NJ) with nine kills.  Kinikia Collier (Garnerville, NY) added eight kills, while setter Kaitlin Earl (Greenville, NY) had 20 assists in the loss.  Junior Antoinette Hackett (Pearl River, NY) had 12 digs.
