NYACK WARRIORS TURN BACK LADY CHARGERS VOLLEYBALL
Orangeburg, NY (9/30/08) The visiting Warriors of Nyack College turned back the Dominican College Lady Chargers volleyball team 3-0 (25-23, 25-16, 25-21) this evening in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) womens volleyball action on Coach Baxter Court.
Orangeburg, NY (9/30/08) The visiting Warriors of Nyack College turned back the Dominican College Lady Chargers volleyball team 3-0 (25-23, 25-16, 25-21) this evening in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) women's volleyball action on Coach Baxter Court.
The Lady Chargers held a 20-15 lead in the first set, but the Warriors wouldn't give up and went on a 10-3 run to win the set at 25-23. In the second set, tied at 8-8 Nyack put together a 9-5 run to take a 19-13 lead en route to the 25-16 set win.
The third set saw the Warriors jump out to an 11-6 lead, but the Lady Chargers rallied with an 8-2 run to tie the game at 13-13. Nyack took advantage of a DC serving error and never looked back en route to the 25-21 set win and 3-0 match victory.
Senior outside hitter Laurie Stuart (Trujillo, Peru) led the Warriors with 10 kills, while Samantha Friday (Pittsburg, PA) added six kills and 21 assists in the win.
Sophomore Kerianne Dudley (Nanuet, NY) led the Lady Chargers with four kills, while setter Lauren Palermo (Ottisville, NY) had 10 assists.
With the win the Warriors improve to 3-11 overall and 2-3 in the CACC, while the Lady Chargers drop to 0-14 overall and 0-5 in the CACC.
The Lady Chargers are back in action on Thursday when they travel to Southern Connecticut State University in a non-conference match. Game time is set for 7pm.
