SPARTANS SNAP #1 CHARGERS BASEBALL STREAK

Orangeburg, NY (4/29/09) The St. Thomas Aquinas College baseball team snapped the Chargers 16 game winning streak with a 2-0 non-conference victory this afternoon at Veteran's Memorial Park.

Orangeburg, NY (4/29/09)  The St. Thomas Aquinas College baseball team snapped the Chargers 16 game winning streak with a 2-0 non-conference victory this afternoon at Veteran's Memorial Park.

The Spartans struck for the only runs of the game with a two-run third inning to shut out the Chargers 2-0.  STAC held the Chargers to just three hits in the shut out victory.

Freshman Cody Smith (Wales, WI) took the loss (1-2) in six innings of work, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits and four strikeouts.  Joe Zaccaro (Washingtonville, NY) came in to pitch the final two innings.

Dominican falls to 31-10 on the season with the loss.
