CHARGERS LOSE TO LIU POST

Brookville, N.Y. (4/16/15) The Dominican College baseball team lost to host, LIU Post University, 4-3, this afternoon in a non-conference game played at the Baseball Field.

Brookville, N.Y. (4/16/15)  The Dominican College baseball team lost to host, LIU Post University, 4-3, this afternoon in a non-conference game played at the Baseball Field.

Dominican scored a run in the top of the first as center fielder William Seymour (Sloatsburg, N.Y.) singled to right field and a fielding error allowed a run to come home and put the Chargers up, 1-0.

The Pioneers countered with two runs in the bottom of the first and second to go ahead, 4-1.

An RBI single through the right side off the bat of Carlos Lopez (Miami, Fla.) brought home a run in the fourth for DC and the team added a run in the eighth on the RBI ground out by Seymour for the final 4-3 score.

Robert Alonso (Hurley, N.Y.) and Seymour both had two hits in the loss.

Colin Taylor (Coral Springs, Fla.) suffered the loss in eight innings, allowing four runs (none earned) on nine hits and four strikeouts.

With the loss, Dominican falls to 10-16 on the season.
