Waterbury, Conn. (4/18/21) The Dominican College baseball team split a conference doubleheader with Post University.

Joshua Colon (Bronx, N.Y.) recorded his 200th career hit in the opening game of the doubleheader.

The Chargers now stand at 9-5 (3-3 CACC) on the season and Post now holds a record of 1-8 (1-8 CACC).

Game One: The Chargers took the first game of the doubleheader by a score of 17-4. The Chargers recorded 13 total hits.

Joshua Colon recorded his 200th career hit in the fifth inning on a solo homer. Colon finished the game with two RBIs and two runs scored.

Shane Hewlette (Deer Park N.Y.) finished with two hits including a double and a homer. Hewlette finished the game with a team-high three runs scored and four RBIs.

Brian Sanders () added three hits and one RBI. Tyler Patterson (East Meadow, N.Y.) and Arthur Quinones (Miami, Fla.) each added two RBIs. Pavlos Papoutsakis (Westbury, N.Y.), Bobby Garbuio (Chappaqua, N.Y.), and Max Chidsey (Naples, Fla.) all added one RBI.

Game Two: The Eagles bounced back to earn a split with DC with a 5-0 win in game two.

Chas Cywin pitched 5.2 shutout innings for Post to earn the win. Cywin recorded 11 strikeouts.

Harry Allegra recorded two hits and two RBIs including a double. Brycin Hernandez and Jared Zima each drove in one RBI.

For the Chargers, Joshua Colon recorded two hits including a double. Benjamin Meza (Miami, Fla.) added one hit.

The Chargers will be back in action on Tuesday, April 20th when they travel to Bloomfield College for a conference match-up with the Bears. The game is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
