COLON NAMED NCBWA PLAYER OF THE YEAR; PAULINO JOINS HIM ON ALL-REGION TEAMS
Orangeburg, N.Y. (5/21/21) Dominican College baseball player, Joshua Colon, has been named the 2021 Division II National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Player of the Year as was announced today by the Association. Colon also earned All-East Region First Team accolades, while teammate Richard Paulino was named to the All-East Region Second Team.

Orangeburg, N.Y. (5/21/21) Dominican College baseball player, Joshua Colon, has been named the 2021 Division II National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Player of the Year as was announced today by the Association. Colon also earned All-East Region First Team accolades, while teammate Richard Paulino was named to the All-East Region Second Team.
Colon, a senior shortstop from the Bronx, N.Y., picks up his second Player of the Year honors as he was recently named the 2021 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Year, along with being named to the All-CACC First Team. He ranked second in the CACC with a .422 batting average. He has homered eight times, while driving in 37 runs and coming around to score 30 times. Colon has pounded out 47 hits this season, which is the third best total in the CACC. He also ranks in the top 10 in doubles, triples, home runs, RBI and total bases. Colon has produced 18 multi-hit games, including a streak of eight straight from April 24-April 30.
Paulino, a junior third basemen from San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic, led the CACC in doubles, while ranking in the top 15 in hits, RBI, batting average and total bases. He leads the team in doubles, is second in RBI, third in hits and fourth in batting average.
