DIAZ AND MAIA NAMED TO NCBWA EAST REGION PRESEASON TEAM

2026 NCBWA East Region Preseason Team

Orangeburg, N.Y. (1/28/26)  Dominican University New York baseball players, Erick Diaz and Jaden Maia, have been named to the 2026 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) East Region Preseason Team, which was released today.

In 2025, Diaz was named to the the 2025 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA DII All-America Third Team, the ABCA East Region All-Defensive Team, the NCBWA All-East Region First Team and the D2CCA All-East Region First Team.  He also earned All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) First Team accolades.  Diaz ranked fifth in the conference in hits and home runs, first in triples and seventh in RBIs.

Maia had been named to the NCBWA All-East Region First Team, the D2CCA All-East Region First Team and to the ABCA/Rawlings East All-Region Second Team.  He also received All-American Honorable Mention accolades by the NCBWA.  Maia was a All-CACC First Team honoree and was second in the conference in batting average and was tied for third in hits.
