TROJANS SWEEP SERIES OVER CHARGERS
Mount Olive, N.C. (3/4/26) The Dominican University New York baseball team dropped game two of their two game series with the University of Mount Olive Trojans.
The Trojans sweep the series after a 13-5 game two victory to improve to 9-8 overall. After the loss, the Chargers fall to 1-5 overall.
Dominican got on the board in the first inning after a solo homer by Jaden Maia.
The Trojans scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning and the Chargers answered in the second inning after an RBI-double by Fraelyn Rosario cut the deficit to one run.
The Trojans added four runs over the next two ininigs to extend to a 7-2 lead.
Maia homered again in the fifth inning to cut the Trojan lead to 7-3. The Trojans scored five runs over the next two innings to extend their lead to 12-3.
The Chargers added two runs in the seventh after an RBI-single by Byron Arias and a sac fly by Jake Klein but Mount Olive later secured the 13-5 win.
Rosario finished the game with two hits while Arias and Hirsch also finished with two hits each.
AJ Giannetti and Pablo Guevara each added a double.
The Chargers return to action on Friday when they play a doubleheader against Walsh University at 9:00 AM and Adelphi University at 1:00 PM.
