BASEBALL UPENDS HAWKS
Cary, N.C. (3/7/26) The Dominican University New York baseball team upended the Hawks of Saint Anselm College, 3-2, this afternoon in action played at the USA Baseball National Training Complex.
With the win, the Chargers are now 3-6 on the season.
Dominican got on the scoreboard in the top of the second on the RBI ground out by Jake Klein, but a Saint Anselm run in the third made the score 1-1.
The fifth inning saw centerfielder Erick Diaz blast a two-run homer over the right field fence to regain a 3-1 lead. The Hawks used a run-scoring single in the sixth to cut the lead to the eventual 3-2 final.
Designated hitter Kevin Hirsch went 3-5 in the game, while Byron Arias and catcher AJ Giannetti had two hits a-piece in the win.
John Stoliker picked up the win in five and 2/3 innings of work, allowing one run on five hits and one strikeout.
The Chargers conclude their trip tomorrow with a game against Wayne State.
