CHARGERS DROP SERIES FINALE TO GRIFFINS
Pomona, N.Y. (3/15/26) The Dominican University New York baseball team fell in their series finale with the Griffins of Chestnut Hill College this afternoon at Clover Stadium in Pomona, N.Y.
The Chargers lose the season series with CHC 2-1 and fall to 6-10 overall and 2-3 in the CACC. The Griffins improve to 6-7 overall and 3-2 in conference play.
DU starting pitcher Jason Murphy surrendered five hits and three runs, one earned run, but suffered the loss to drop his record to 1-2. CHC starting pitcher Noah Tincher tossed six innings of two run ball and picked up his first win on the season.
The Griffins plated one run in the first inning for the 1-0 lead and then added two runs in each of the third and fourth innings.
The Chargers got on the board in the bottom half of the fourth inning when Chad Falcon belted a solo homer to right center.
The Griffins rallied for three runs in the top of the sixth inining as they extended their lead to 8-1.
Kevin Hirsch homered in the sixth inning and a two-RBI double down the left field line by Pablo Guevara in the eighth inning got the Chargers within four runs.
Relief pitcher Rich Bonino entered the game for the Griffins and threw a scoreless ninth inning to secure the 8-4 win.
Hirsch finished the game with two hits. Erick Diaz added two hits including a double while Jaden Maia and Byron Arias each added two hits.
Dominican returns to action on Tuesday to wrap up their season series with the Tigers of Holy Family University.
