Pomona, N.Y. (3/25/26) The Dominican University New York baseball team split a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheader with the visiting Eagles of Post University in games played this afternoon at Clover Stadium.
With the split, the Chargers are now 11-12 overall and 7-4 in conference play.
Game One: The Eagles led 2-0 after two innings, but first basemen Chad Falcon blasted a three-run home run to right centerfield to lift Dominican to a 3-2 lead. DUNY added a run in the fourth on a bases loaded hit-by-pitch and used back-to-back RBI hits by Jaden Maia and AJ Giannetti to go ahead 6-2. A fielder's choice brough home another run and gave Dominican a 7-2 advantage.
Post scored a run in the sixth, but Falcon countered in the bottom of the sixth with a run-scoring single through the right side to in crase their lead to 8-3. An RBI single to right field off the bat of shortstop Fraelyn Rosario in the bottom of the seventh led DUNY to the 9-3 win.
Falcon and Maia each went 3-5 in the win, with Falcon adding four RBIs.
John Stoliker picked up the win in six innings of work.
Game Two: The Eagles scored runs in the second and third innings to claim the early 4-0 lead, but the Chargers got on the board in the bottom of the fourth on a Rosario infield single to cut the lead to 4-1.
Post added a run in the fifth for the eventtual 5-1 win.
Hirsch and Rosario each had three hits in the loss, while Falcon and Jean Nunez finished with two hits each.
Starter Samuel Herrera took the loss in four and 2/3 innings of work.
