POST TAKES SEASON SERIES OVER CHARGERS
Waterbury, Conn. (3/31/26) The Dominican University New York baseball team fell in the season series finale to Post University this afternoon by a score of 8-5.
The Eagles win the season series 2-1 over the Chargers after splitting a doubleheader earlier this month at Clover Stadium.
The Chargers fall to 13-14 overall and 9-6 in CACC play while the Eagles improve 14-17 overall and 8-7 in conference.
Post took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. Domincian answered in the top of the third when a sac fly by Kevin Hirsch and an RBI-single by Jaden Maia tied the game at 2-2.
Post rallied for four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and then added two runs in the seventh to extend their lead to 8-2.
Dominican got two runs back in the eighth inning after a Davin Keddell-Tuckey sac fly and an RBI-single by Pablo Guevara.
Chad Falcon singled in DU's fifth run in the ninth inning but relief pitcher Andrew Hardin closed the door for the 8-5 win.
Post starting pitcher Jacob Schrage tossed seven innings and earned his fourth win on the year. John Stoliker suffered the loss for the Chargers.
Erick Diaz went 2-4 with a double while scoring two runs and drew one walk.
The Chargers return home tomorrow night to take on the Spartans of St. Thomas Aquinas College from Clover Stadium at 7:00 PM.
