WILDCATS TAKE BOTH GAMES FROM CHARGERS

New Castle, Del. (4/18/26) The Dominican University New York baseball team fell in both games of a CACC doubleheader to the Wildcats of Wilmington University this afternoon. 

The Chargers fall to 15-26 overall and 11-15 in conference play. The Wildcats improve to 29-12 overall and 20-6 in the CACC. 

Game One: Dominican scored the game's first run on a sac fly by Kevin Hirsch. 

WILMU scored four runs in the first ininng and second in the second for an 8-1 lead. 

Dominican got a run back in the third after Erick Diaz hit a team leading 14th homer on the season. 

The Wildcats added one run in each of the next two innings and then rallied for three in the sixth inning. 

A two-run homer by Juan Peralta followed by an RBI-single by Fraelyn Rosario cut the deficit to 13-5 in the seventh inning. 

Wilmington scored two more runs in the bottom of the seventh which secured the win for the Wildcats. 

Rosario also added a double in the game one loss. Xavier Cortez picked up the win on the mound for the Wildcats.

Game Two: The Wildcats completed the sweep with a 21-4 victory in game two.

The Wildcats combined for seven runs in the first two innings before rallying for an 11 run third inning. Wilmington added to their lead in the fifth inning with two runs in the fifth and one in the sixth.

The Chargers scored one run in the sixth and added three in the seventh. Ryan Perez and Jason Amor each picked up a double. Amor drove in two runs. 

Dominican completes their series with Wilmington on Monday night at 6:00 PM at Clover Stadium.
