DRAUSCHAK NAMED FIELD HOCKEY COACH
Orangeburg, N.Y. (9/16/25) Dominican University of New York Director of Athletics, Joseph S. Clinton, has announced the hiring of Evan Drauschak as the head coach of the field hockey team.
"We are happy to have Evan join the Charger community as our new field hockey coach," said Clinton. "His experience with building quality programs and his passion for the sport really stood out during the interview process and we look forward to seeing the program grow into one of the top programs in the East Coast Conference."
Drauschak comes to Dominican from Marian University of Wisconsin where he served as the head coach of the field hockey program for the past two years. Prior to that he spent one year at Frostburg State University as an assistant coach where he focused on coaching goalkeepers and played a major role in recruiting along with academic success.
He also spent time at Ursinus College and DePauw University. At both stops he served a primary role in coaching goalkeepers and recruiting. His collegiate coaching career began at Immaculata where he served as an assistant coach.
"I am filled with great excitement and energy as I start my journey at Dominican as the new head field hockey coach," said Drauschak. "Dominican is a wonderful community where I am looking to grow and help this field hockey program develop. I'm thankful to the athletic administration and Mr. Clinton for giving me this opportunity to become the second head field hockey coach in DUNY history. It is a big honor that I won't take lightly."
Outside of the collegiate ranks, Drauschak was a part of USA Futures program as a field hockey coach from 2014-2023. His coaching career began with the Vipers Field Hockey Club, out of Royersford, Pa. With VFHC, he coached a wide variety of players ranging from U10 to U19 from 2014-2021. He also had a stop at Owen J. Roberts High School as an assistant coach where he also served as the head coach for the freshmen team.
His playing career is highlighted by a USA Men's Field Hockey Junior National Championship in 2008. He also won a Scottish Cup Championship with Fettes College where he was a goalkeeper and served as a co-captain. Following that championship, Drauschak was a co-captain and goalkeeper for the USA Field Hockey development team from 2009-2011.
"It is the beginning of a new journey and I look forward to embracing the challenges ahead," Drauschak said. "The future is very bright for the DUNY and with some hard work, we are poised to do great things next fall in the ECC."
