The Eagles built up a 37-22 lead with 2:47 remaining in the first half, capped off by a bucket by Brandon Romain (Brooklyn, NY) and closed the half with 40-27 lead. Post shot 48.5% (16-33) from the floor, while the Chargers struggled shooting 32.4% (11-34). Senior guard Will Carty (Bronx, NY) picked up his 1,000th career point on a trey with 10:00 minutes left before the intermission.
Post never trailed in the second half and led by as many as 22 points with 9:30 left in the game and soared to teh 81-67 win.
The Chargers were led by senior guard Brandon Brock (Newburgh, NY) who had 15 points and a team high six rebounds. Carty netted 13 points in the game, while senior Abdul Sulaiman (Bronx, NY) finished with nine points and five rebounds.
Post was led by freshman Brandon Romain (Brooklyn, NY) who led all scorers with 28 points. Seniors Rob McClain (Waterbury, CT) and Omar Robinson (Brooklyn, NY) each had ten points in the win. Guard Cecil Stinson (Montclair, NJ) had a game leading seven assists.
The Eagles improve to 9-6 overall and 3-2 in the CACC, while the Chargers fall to 6-11 overall and 1-5 in the CACC.
Dominican is back in action on Tuesday when they host rival Nyack College in CACC men's basketball action from Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center. Game time is set for 8pm.
