MEN'S BASKETBALL FALLS TO COLLEGE OF SAINT ROSE

Trailing 52-43 with 11:03 remaining in the game, the Chargers went on a 13-2 tear, with back-to-back three point buckets from freshman guard Khaleev Ginyard (Brentwood, NY) to tie the game at 54-54 and capped off by a bucket in the paint from center Almin Hodzic (Budd Lake, NJ) saw DC take a 56-54 lead with 8:38 to go.
Tied 61-61 at the 6:41 mark, a 14-4 run by the Golden Knights helped to regain a 76-65 advantage. DC later cut a ten point deficit to 76-71 with a 6-1 spurt as guard Leon Porter (Laurel, MD) hit two free throws with 2:24 left in the game to complete the spurt.
With DC forced to foul, the Golden Knights closed out the game by outscoring the Chargers, 5-2 for the final 81-73 victory.
Sophomore Cory Quimby (Otisville, NY) came off the bench to lead four Chargers in double-digit scoring with 16 points. Porter finished with 15 points and seven assists, while Ginyard and Hodzic each contributed 12 points, with all Ginyard's points coming from behind the three point arc, in the loss. Forward Michael Calzonetti (Gloucester, NJ) grabbed a team leading eight rebounds.
With the loss Dominican falls to 0-1 on the season.
DC will take on Saint Anselm College on Sunday at 2pm in the NE-10 Challenge.
