MEN'S BASKETBALL DOMINATES NEW YORK INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY
Caldwell, NJ (12/18/10) The Dominican College men's basketball team used a 29-58 (50%) performance from the floor and a 7-15 (46.7%) from the three point line to dominate the New York Institute of Technology, 87-70, this afternoon in the first game of the ECAC Holiday Classic being hosted by Caldwell College.

Dominican scored the first 16 points of the contest as freshman guard Khaleev Ginyard (Brentwood, NY) netted 12 of those points, all from three point range, including back-to-back-to-back treys and held a 28-2 lead with 12:20 left in the first half.
A dunk from freshman Nick Smith (Middletown, NY) with 9:39 left before the break put Dominican ahead 33-3 and they cruised into the intermission with 47-25 lead. Ginyard finished the half with 18 points, shooting 6-8 from the three point line, with his first six shots all scoring points.
DC continued to hold a double-digit lead the entire second half, as NYIT was able to cut the deficit to 13 points (79-66) with 2:43 left in the game.
Ginyard led four Charger players in double figures with 22 points. Sophomore Cory Quimby (Otisville, NY) netted 14 points, going 5-5 from the floor and 4-4 from the charity stripe, while Smith and Michael Calzonetti (Gloucester, NJ) both netted 11 points off the bench in the victory.
Senior center Almin Hodzic (Budd Lake, NJ) tallied nine points, three blocks and had a team leading 12 rebounds.
With the victory Dominican earned their third straight win to improve to 3-7 on the season.
DC returns to action at the ECAC Holiday Classic tomorrow when they take on Cheyney University at 2pm.
